Questions
How does VidLens read a video?
VidLens is split in two on purpose. The client runs on your own machine and reads the recording on your connection; only the transcript and a few key frames reach our servers, where the document is assembled. The video itself never reaches VidLens.
What’s the difference between Free and Pro?
Free is genuinely useful with zero AI — a timestamped transcript and raw key frames. Pro adds vision descriptions: the diagrams, slides, and code on screen, described in words your AI can read and search. That’s the upgrade.
Do the discovery tools cost anything?
No. Public discovery endpoints stay free. A future agent surface will keep health checks free before any paid call.
Agents or Creator — which do I want?
Agents if you’re building RAG or tool-using workflows and want video knowledge as structured documents. Creator if you own a channel and want your own videos hosted as AI-readable documents at stable URLs.
Is there a REST API?
A metered developer API for bulk RAG pipelines is on the roadmap for after the MVP. Remote MCP was retired and will return as a redesigned surface later.
Do you train on my content?
No. Your recordings and the documents VidLens generates are yours. We don’t train on your content, and you can delete a document at any time.
